INEC Denies Suspending Warri Federal Constituency Delineation Amid Controversy

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) clarified that it has not suspended the proposed delineation of wards in the Warri Federal Constituency, despite reports suggesting otherwise. INEC's action follows a Supreme Court order to carry out the delineation in the constituency, which includes Warri North, Warri South, and Warri local government areas.

While the Ijaw community has accepted the proposal, the Itsekiri and Urhobo groups have raised concerns about the fairness and representation of their populations in the delineation exercise. INEC's National Commissioner, Sam Olumekun, emphasized the need for clarity amid misconceptions surrounding the delineation process.
