INEC's Dr. Agwu Prepares Anambra for 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra State, under the leadership of Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Elizabeth Agwu, has declared its preparedness for the 2027 general elections. During a stakeholders engagement meeting at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, Agwu announced the deployment of 5,720 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines to cover all polling units in the state.
Additionally, approximately 22,280 ad hoc staff will be engaged for the elections. The distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) commenced on October 9 and will conclude on October 15, with Agwu urging registered voters to collect their PVCs.
She assured that the commission is ready to conduct a free and fair election, warning against electoral malpractices and emphasizing the importance of security. Agwu also called on political parties to conduct their campaigns responsibly and warned that any attempts to bribe INEC staff would lead to prosecution.
