INEC Registers 3.7 Million Voters in CVR Phase Two

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the conclusion of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) on April 17, 2026, with a total of 3,748,704 completed registrations across Nigeria. This figure includes 2,259,288 Nigerians who registered online and 1,489,416 who completed their registration physically.

The commission, represented by Mr. Victoria Etta Messi, noted that these figures are preliminary and subject to further verification.

The second phase of the CVR, which began on January 5, 2026, followed the first phase that ran from August 18, 2025, to December 19, 2025. INEC plans to conduct a display exercise from April 29 to May 5, 2026, allowing citizens to verify their details and raise objections if necessary.

The commission urges Nigerians to participate actively in this verification process to ensure the accuracy of the voter register, which is crucial for the integrity of the upcoming 2027 general elections.
