INEC Confident as Dr. Agboke Takes Charge in Ondo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed confidence in the electoral reforms in Ondo State following the appointment of Dr. Mutiu Olalek Agboke as the new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC).

This announcement was made by Tades Adenik, the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Ondo State, confirming that Dr. Agboke assumed office on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Dr. Agboke, who hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association since 2006 and has previously served as the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commissioner from 2012 to 2016.

He has held similar positions in Ondo, Oyo, and Osun States, overseeing the conduct of the 2019 and 2023 general elections. INEC highlighted Dr.

Agboke's extensive background in electoral management and legal practice, describing him as a seasoned professional with proven experience. The commission anticipates that his leadership will enhance public trust and ensure the delivery of credible, free, and fair elections in Ondo State.
