INEC Completes Preparations for Ekiti Guber Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has completed major preparations for the governorship election in Ekiti State, set for June 20, 2026. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, a representative of INEC, assured residents and stakeholders of a credible, transparent, and inclusive electoral process.

The commission is adhering strictly to its electoral timeline and has implemented necessary measures to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise. The finalization of voter registration is ongoing, and INEC will soon announce the dates for political parties to collect Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Omoseyindemi urged eligible voters to collect their PVCs, as possessing a valid voter card is a prerequisite for participating in the election. Additionally, INEC is in the process of recruiting and training ad hoc personnel for the election.

The commission is also procuring logistics for the secure movement and storage of sensitive and non-sensitive electoral materials, collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe deployment of personnel and materials across the state.
