INEC Recognizes NNPP Under Bala Yunusa's Leadership

Bala Yunusa Mohammad, the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), announced that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized the party under his leadership. This recognition follows a meticulous verification exercise conducted by INEC to fulfill its statutory mandate regarding political parties.

Mohammad emphasized that the NNPP is prepared for the upcoming 2027 general elections, with primary elections scheduled for May 26, 2026. He addressed attempts by some individuals to expel members from the party, labeling these efforts as desperate and futile.

He noted that a judgment from the Federal High Court in Abuja confirmed that certain individuals are no longer members of the NNPP, and he criticized the misleading tactics used to manipulate the judicial process. The NNPP aims to strengthen its grassroots democracy and has called on Nigerian youth, women, and professionals to continue registering across the country.
