Peter Obi Accuses INEC Chairman of Acting for Tinubu

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, publicly accused Joash Amupitan, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of being an agent for President Bola Tinubu. In an interview with New Central Television, Obi claimed that Amupitan's actions are scripted by Tinubu, suggesting that the electoral body is not acting independently.

He stated that INEC's role is compromised and that it will not be able to maintain its integrity indefinitely. Obi's comments come amid ongoing political tensions, particularly concerning the registration of political parties, including the New Democratic Alliance (NDA), which he is promoting alongside former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Despite legal troubles surrounding the NDA, Obi and Kwankwaso continue to advocate for their political interests. The allegations were made during a Thursday morning appearance on Arise Television, where Obi expressed concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in Nigeria.
