INEC Recognizes Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as PRP Chairman

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized Hakeem Baba-Ahmed as the national chairman of the People's Redemption Party (PRP). This decision follows an update to INEC's portal after the party's convention held in Abuja, which aimed to resolve uncertainties surrounding the party's leadership.

The confirmation of Baba-Ahmed's leadership is part of the PRP's efforts to establish a legally recognized structure ahead of the 2027 elections. The party's national public secretary, Muham Bello Ishaq, stated that the update reflects INEC's acknowledgment of the leadership emerging from the convention.

The convention also included the election of other key officials, such as the deputy national chairman (North), national organizing secretary, national auditor, and national youth leader. Despite internal disputes and allegations of factionalism, Ishaq maintained that the party remains united and dismissed reports of factionalism as baseless.

The PRP is now fully recognized by INEC as it prepares for the upcoming electoral cycle.
