Adeleke Receives Certificate of Return, Launches Fund

On Wednesday, Ademola Adeleke received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), confirming his re-election for a second term as Governor of Osun State. The certificate was presented by INEC National Commissioner Prof Kunle Ajayi.

Adeleke, who won against All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15 governorship election, stated that the certificate symbolizes a renewed contract with the people. He announced the establishment of a N500 million Election Violence Victims Endowment Fund to support verified victims and families affected by politically motivated violence.

Additionally, the Adeleke family will provide full scholarships for the children of those who lost their lives during the violence. A Verification and Relief Committee, led by Rt Hon Adewale Olumide Egbedun, will ensure equitable distribution of assistance.

Adeleke emphasized that the intervention would be free from political bias and called for unity among all residents of Osun State.
