INEC Promotes 2,339 Staff, Enhances Career Development

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the promotion of 2,339 staff members during its 2025 senior staff promotion exercise, which was confirmed in a statement by the Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN.

The meeting took place on Thursday, February 26, 2026. This exercise is part of INEC's commitment to career development and staff welfare, as it aims to reward merit and dedication to service.

The promotions include 45 Deputy Directors elevated to Director level (GL 16-17), 91 Assistant Directors promoted to Deputy Directors (GL 15-16), and 82 Chief Officers advancing to Assistant Director (GL 14-15). Additionally, 2,121 Intermediate Officers across various departments were promoted from GL 07-13.

Prof. Amupitan emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for staff to perform optimally and urged the newly promoted officers to maintain professional integrity and impartial service, especially in preparation for upcoming electoral engagements.
