INEC Recognizes Major Agbo as NNPP National Chairman

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognized Major Agbo as the national chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), succeeding Bala Yusuf. This announcement was made during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Agbo's name has been uploaded to INEC's portal, confirming his leadership role along with other key members of the party's national working committee, including Anthony Apugo as national legal adviser and Olaposi Oginni as national secretary. Agbo described the INEC update as a validation of the party's leadership and expressed confidence in the NNPP's future political activities.

He stated that the party is preparing for the 2027 general elections, having received access codes from INEC to upload candidates in accordance with electoral guidelines. Agbo called for stronger collaboration to tackle Nigeria's security challenges and urged INEC to conduct free and fair elections.

The recognition marks a significant development in the ongoing leadership tussle within the party.
