INEC Reveals When Voters Registration Will End

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the physical phase of voter registration will end on August 11, 2025. The National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, stated that the online portal for registration was launched on August 18, 2025.

Within a week, a total of Nigerians had registered online. Olumekun emphasized that the physical registration process would cater to those who prefer in-person registration and urged eligible citizens to take advantage of the exercise to avoid the usual rush.

He also reminded the public that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is strictly for Nigerian citizens aged 18 and above, with previous registration being illegal. However, the exercise can also be used for voter card transfers or replacements.
