INEC Updates PRP Leadership Ahead of 2027 Elections

On March 28, 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) updated the leadership of the People's Redemption Party (PRP) on its portal. The meeting included key figures such as the national chairman Dr.

Hakeem Baba Ahmad, national secretary Mr. Kanu Sundai Uchenna, national treasurer Dr.

Bayawo Yunusa, and others, as they prepare for the 2027 general elections. However, a faction within the PRP has rejected the outcomes of a recent convention held in Abuja, describing it as a sham and accusing rival groups of attempting to hijack the party for elitist interests.

This faction, led by Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, criticized Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmad, claiming he is not a legitimate member of the PRP.

In response, Ahmad condemned the faction's attempts to create divisions within the party, asserting that there is no faction within the PRP and that they will take necessary steps to prevent such divisions.
