FG and APC Governors Donate N8 Billion to Kano Traders

The Federal Government and governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have collectively donated N8 billion to support traders impacted by a fire that devastated a significant portion of the Singer Market in Kano. Vice President Kashim Shettima announced this donation during a visit to the market on Monday, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The federal government has also approved a N5 billion intervention fund for the affected traders. Shettima expressed condolences to the traders and assured them of the federal government's commitment to collaborate with the Kano state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, in recovery efforts.

The Vice President highlighted Kano's vital role in Nigeria's economy and its diverse contributions. He praised Governor Yusuf's decision to join the APC, stating that it would benefit the state and enhance its development.

The event was attended by various political figures, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abba.
