Innoson Unveils Africa's Largest CNG Vehicle Plant to Dominate Auto Industry

Innoson Group, led by Chairman Innocent Chukwuma, has launched what is described as the world's largest Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle production plant in Nigeria. The facility will manufacture electric vehicles and CNG vehicles, with a capacity to produce 3,000 vehicles annually across six categories.

The expansion aligns with a broader trend towards sustainable transport solutions in Africa, as governments and businesses seek alternatives to petrol and diesel vehicles due to rising energy costs and climate concerns. The project reflects Innoson's commitment to local vehicle production, reducing Nigeria's reliance on imports, and stimulating economic activities.

The new plant is expected to create 2,000 additional jobs by 2026 and includes a technical training program to equip young Nigerians with manufacturing skills. This initiative not only aims to enhance local value chains but also positions Nigeria as a key player in clean mobility on the continent.
