APC Chieftain Advocates Military Base in Oyo State Amid Rising Insecurity

Ayoad Adeseun, a former member of the Nigerian National Assembly and an APC chieftain in Oyo State, has urged the federal government to set up a military base in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, to address the escalating insecurity in the area. Adeseun highlighted recent incidents, including the invasion of the Old Oyo National Park where five park officials were killed, as evidence of the urgent need for enhanced security measures.

He emphasized the historical significance of Ogbomoso in producing distinguished military officers and expressed concerns about the absence of a military base in the region. Adeseun stressed the strategic importance of having a combat-ready military outpost to proactively tackle security challenges and prevent further loss of lives.

He called for the immediate deployment of military units to the area to safeguard the community and combat criminal activities.
