Army Chief Urges Unity and Sacrifice During Eid Luncheon

During a special Eid el-Fitr luncheon held for frontline personnel in the 8 Division area of Katsina State, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, urged troops to uphold unity and sacrifice. He conveyed his message on Sunday, highlighting the unique nature of this year's celebration, which coincided with the Christian Lenten season.

Shaibu extended warm greetings to Muslim officers and soldiers, acknowledging their successful observance of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of moral strength and the welfare of troops, noting that the Nigerian Army's operational strength relies on the confidence and discipline of its personnel.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, particularly in welfare matters. The event also featured remarks from Maj. Gen. Godwin Mutkut and Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, who commended the dedication of troops in tackling insecurity.

The luncheon aimed to boost troop morale amidst ongoing challenges in combating banditry and other security threats in the region.
