Bandits Kill Eight Residents in Plateau State Attack

On April 9, around 10:30 PM, a fresh wave of bandit attacks in Mbwell Village, located in Kwata District of Bokko Local Government Area, Plateau State, resulted in the deaths of eight residents. The victims were identified as Habila Istifanu (38), Hassan Istifanu (31), Iliya Mangut (70), Sundai Gideon (31), Innoc Banaba (20), Lucki Titu (38), Wisdom Lucki (15), and Bwehsun Hassan (25). Security sources reported that the attack was made public post-event by a counter-insurgency analyst covering the Lake Chad region. Following the incident, security operatives responded to a distress call but faced challenges due to the difficult terrain, as the troop base was located 15 kilometers away from the community. Injured victims were taken to Bokko Cottage Hospital for treatment. In response to the attack, security forces launched operations to track down the assailants.
