Eight Killed in Plateau State Attack, Urgent Action Needed

On the evening of the attack, which occurred between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, eight people were killed in Kok Village, Ropp District, and Cheny Village, Bachi District, located in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State. Bokko Dakol Jame, the chairman of the Plateau Youth Council, confirmed the incident and condemned the attack, urging the government to take immediate action to end the violence affecting the Bokko youth population.

Christoph Luka, a youth leader, reported that gunshots were heard around 8:00 PM, and there was no immediate determination of the source. He expressed disappointment over the absence of security personnel, who had not been deployed to assess the situation even after 12 hours.

Saleh Adamu, chairman of the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, also condemned the attack, describing it as unfortunate and unwarranted, especially given the community's recent peace. The Plateau State Police Command, represented by Captain Polycarp Oteh, had not responded to inquiries at the time of the report.
