Bauchi Police Enforce Night Ban on Bikes and Tricycles

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced a ban on night operations for motorcycles and tricycles as part of efforts to combat rising insecurity in the state. The enforcement, confirmed by police spokesman Nafiu Habib, follows an executive order issued by the state government and is aimed at addressing the increase in criminal activities that occur under the cover of darkness.

The restrictions state that motorcycles must cease operations by 8:00 PM, while tricycles must stop by 10:00 PM. The police also addressed a viral video involving Ishak Abubakar, who allegedly attacked police officers while obstructing law enforcement duties.

This incident occurred on April 18, 2026, leading to the arrest of individuals involved. Following the investigation, the suspects were arraigned in a magistrate's court on April 20, 2026, on charges including obstruction and assault.

The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining public trust and urged citizens to report verified information while disregarding unverified claims.
