Gombe Police Extend Night Motorcycle Ban for Security

The Gombe State Police Command, on Thursday, announced the continuation of restrictions on motorcycle movement within Gombe Metropolis, maintaining an existing curfew from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily. This enforcement will resume on Friday, April 3, 2026, following a comprehensive review of the security situation in collaboration with security agencies and stakeholders.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Buhari Abdullahi stated that the decision was reached after careful deliberation, assessing prevailing security concerns. The measures aim to curb criminal activities often perpetrated using motorcycles and to prevent their use in such activities across the state.

Abdullahi, the police spokesperson, appreciated the cooperation of residents and urged continued compliance with the directive in the interest of public safety. He also called on citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station, reassuring the public of the command's commitment to protecting lives and property.
