Borno Police Restrict Tricycle Movement for Eid Security

The Borno State Police Command has announced a restriction on tricycle movement across the state from 6 PM to 12 PM on March 20, 2026, as part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free Eid el-Fitr celebration. Residents are urged to observe prayers close to their homes to minimize movement and prevent overcrowding.

The command has deployed an Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit to strategic locations across the state and will conduct thorough screenings of individuals and items entering designated venues. This directive, issued by the police public relations officer Asp Nahum Daso, aims to enhance security and manage crowds effectively.

The police have also collaborated with other security agencies to ensure comprehensive coverage during the festivities. CP Naziru Abdulmajid has directed intensified visible police patrols throughout the period, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, particularly in light of recent suicide bombings in Maiduguri.
