Commonwealth Varsity Leaders Conference Postponed Due to Security

The Commonwealth Varsity Leaders Conference, originally set to take place in Abuja on April 23-24, has been postponed due to security concerns, as announced by the organizers. Funmi Ogundar, associated with the Commonwealth Institute, indicated that the event aims to gather university leaders, policymakers, and educational stakeholders across the Commonwealth to discuss governance and innovation in higher education.

Following recent security reports, Dammi Sanyaolu, a local organizing committee member, confirmed that the decision to postpone was made to ensure the safety of all attendees. The organizers are committed to providing a secure environment for the conference and will consult with security agencies and institutional partners to determine a new date and venue.

Participants who had already confirmed their attendance will be informed promptly once the plans are revised, although a new date has not yet been announced.
