Malami Urges Stronger Action Against Banditry After General's Death

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, has called for stronger action against banditry and insurgency in Nigeria, following the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar. Major General Abubakar, a distinguished officer and former Director of Defence Intelligence, was reportedly abducted and killed by bandits in Katsina State.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Malami expressed deep sadness over the loss, describing Abubakar as a patriot whose death underscores the severe security challenges facing the country. He highlighted that the ongoing fight against banditry requires unwavering commitment and strong political will to effectively confront and eliminate the threats posed by such insurgencies.

Malami extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the people of Katsina State, mourning the loss of a great son of Nigeria.
