Plateau State Governor Mutfwang Bans Night Mining, Grazing

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State announced a blanket ban on night mining and underage grazing across the state, effective immediately. This decision was made during a sympathy visit to Barkin Ladi and Bassa Local Government Area, following attacks by suspected Fulani bandits that resulted in several fatalities.

Accompanied by Dr. Bernard Doro, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and other top government officials, Mutfwang expressed condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to protecting lives and property in Plateau State.

He met with local leaders, including Hon. Stephen Pwajok, the Executive Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, to offer comfort to the victims' families.

Mutfwang emphasized that the perpetrators of the attacks would face justice and directed security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and prosecute those responsible. The governor reiterated that the ban on mining activities at night would take effect at 5:00 PM daily and urged parents and livestock owners to manage cattle responsibly.
