Tinubu Urges Governors to Tackle Insecurity in Nigeria

During a meeting held in the United Kingdom, President Bola Tinubu addressed Vice President Kashim Shettima and 23 state governors, stating that "insecurity is the next phase of our struggle." He assured that efforts would be intensified to tackle insecurity across various parts of Nigeria, ensuring the safety of citizens. The meeting coincided with the Eid el-Fitr celebrations and followed Tinubu's three-day state visit to the United Kingdom, where he met with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as well as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Tinubu urged the governors to remain steadfast and resilient, translating their ideas into policies that would directly impact the livelihoods of citizens. He also advised them to provide incentives to cushion the inflationary impacts stemming from the Middle East energy transport prices.

The meeting included notable governors such as Hope Uzodinma, Alex Otti, and others from various states, highlighting a collective commitment to addressing the challenges facing the nation.
