Peter Obi Critiques Tinubu Over Nigeria's Terror Ranking

Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate and governor of Anambra State, has expressed alarm over Nigeria's deteriorating security situation following the latest global terror index report. This report ranks Nigeria among the countries most affected by terrorism, highlighting a troubling increase in terror-related deaths.

Obi attributes this alarming trend to the leadership failures of President Bola Tinubu, noting that Nigeria is moving in the opposite direction compared to other countries that are making progress in curbing terrorism. He emphasized that the government's misplaced priorities, corruption, and lack of rule of law have contributed to the worsening security landscape.

Obi pointed out various security threats facing Nigeria, including the insurgency by Boko Haram, the activities of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), and rampant kidnappings and banditry in rural communities. He called for urgent and decisive action, stressing that the current situation is unacceptable and that the government must prioritize the safety and security of its citizens.
