Ogun State Enhances Security with Technology Solutions

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has declared a high alert in response to increasing insecurity across Nigeria, unveiling plans to deploy technology-driven solutions to strengthen the state's security architecture. During a progress meeting held at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, Abiodun described the rise in terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping as disturbing and assured residents of proactive measures to prevent criminal elements from establishing a foothold in Ogun State.

He emphasized the administration's commitment to protecting lives and properties, investing in security infrastructure, and collaborating with security agencies and communities. Special attention will be given to securing schools, with increased surveillance and the deployment of security personnel.

The governor also disclosed significant investments in infrastructure and social intervention programs to alleviate economic hardships. Amidst these security concerns, Major Idereghi Akari, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at the 35 Artillery Brigade, confirmed the killing of a soldier and four others during a failed kidnapping attempt involving Chinese expatriates in the Magbon area.
