Insecurity: Tinubu insists on local manufacturing of military hardware

At a graduation ceremony for Course 33 of the National Defence College in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized the importance of building human capital for national survival. He commended the college for its research excellence and highlighted the need to harness indigenous manufacturing for enhanced national security and development.

President Tinubu reiterated the administration's commitment to strengthening institutions for national security and development, emphasizing the role of resilient institutions in a successful society. He noted the administration's focus on institutional strengthening as a priority, aiming to uphold the rule of law, safeguard citizens' rights, and promote accountability.

The president also expressed confidence in the nation's economy, citing positive growth indicators and calling for continued efforts to tackle inflation and food insecurity. The graduands were urged to join in delivering the administration's vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

Rear Admiral James Okosu and Major General Kevin Ukandu expressed confidence in the graduands' ability to address security challenges and apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training programme.
