Shettima Assures of Security Progress as Lawal Joins APC

On Tuesday, during a ceremony in Gusau, Zamfara State, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured citizens that Nigeria would soon overcome its security challenges. He emphasized the federal government's commitment to restoring peace across the country.

Shettima made these remarks as Governor Dauda Lawal formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing a significant political shift. He praised the unity among party leaders and the support for Lawal's governance, highlighting the importance of collaboration to tackle insecurity, particularly in Zamfara.

Jibrin Barau, representing Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noted that Lawal's defection marked a new phase for the state, urging residents to support the governor for greater development. Hope Uzodimma, the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, welcomed Lawal's move to APC, stating it would benefit the state.

Nentaw Yilwatda, the APC national chairman, commended Lawal's performance in infrastructure development and pledged the party's support for his administration.
