Igbo Community Association Critiques Tinubu on Insecurity

The Igbo Community Association (ICA) issued a statement expressing profound alarm regarding the state of insecurity in Nigeria, criticizing President Bola Tinubu's government for its failure to protect citizens. The statement, signed by ICA President Ikenna Eze and Secretary General Chinwok Emmanuel Onah, highlighted the alarming rise in violence, including kidnappings and killings, which they described as occurring openly and without fear.

The group emphasized that the current measures to combat insecurity are insufficient and called for urgent action to safeguard lives and livelihoods. They criticized the political class for misplaced priorities and noted that citizens are suffering amid rising poverty and violence.

The ICA also condemned the lack of protests against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman's removal, viewing it as hypocrisy while innocent citizens face daily massacres. They urged the government to prioritize the safety of Nigerians over political interests.
