Over 500,000 Displaced in Niger State Due to Attacks

In Niger State, over 500,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes following recent attacks. Governor Mohammed Umar Bago revealed this alarming statistic during a presidential initiative aimed at distributing essential food, nutritional items, and medical supplies to those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the state government and the Federal Government, with the aim of addressing the urgent needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in various camps across the region, including Kebbi, Kwara, Kogi, Kaduna, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The governor emphasized the need for immediate action to reunify displaced families in Borgu Local Government Area, highlighting the state government's commitment to working around the clock with development partners to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable population.
