Bandits Kill Three, Injure Many in Niger State Attack

On Tuesday, an attack by bandits in Niger State led to the deaths of three individuals and injuries to others, prompting residents to flee the area. The assault reportedly commenced around 10:30 AM in Bagna, the hometown of former Niger State Commissioner for Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar.

Sources indicated that the situation remains tense, with the exact number of casualties yet to be confirmed. The assailants, who arrived in large numbers on motorcycles, operated unchallenged for several hours.

As a result, many people fled to nearby communities considered safer. Barrister Mauric Bello Magaji, a representative of the Niger State Commission for Homeland Security, confirmed the incident via text message, stating that credible information is being gathered to work with security forces to address the situation.
