ADC and APGA Reject ICPC Report on PFIPC Scandal

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Chekwas Okorie, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), have rejected the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)’s interim report regarding the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). They called for an independent investigation into the council's operations within government structures.

The ICPC's report recommended the prosecution of principal suspect Adeniyi Adeyemi and suggested the involvement of other accomplices. The ADC, through its National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, criticized the findings as “predictable and inadequate,” claiming the government was more focused on managing political fallout than uncovering the truth.

The ADC raised concerns about how the PFIPC obtained privileges typically reserved for legitimate government agencies, including an allocation of N1.3 billion in the 2026 Appropriation Act, and questioned the authenticity of a document allegedly signed by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, which was determined to be forged.
