Interfaith Leaders Push for National Cohesion in Nigeria

Interfaith leaders and stakeholders gathered in Abuja to promote national cohesion and address the growing concerns of insecurity and social division in Nigeria, which are often linked to religious violence. The event, organized by various groups including the OSPR, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, and the Interfaith Dialogue Forum, featured discussions among religious leaders, peacebuilding experts, and civil society organizations.

Mr. Chris Ngwodo, the Director General of OSPR, called for a coordinated national response to violence affecting rural communities.

Ms. Fatima Madaki, the Director of the Integrative Mission Dialogue Concord, underscored the importance of promoting understanding and unity amidst renewed international concerns regarding religious freedom in Nigeria.

The participants reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing interfaith dialogue and stronger partnerships aimed at fostering peace and social integration in the nation.
