International Para-Badminton Tournament Begins in Umuahia, Abia State - Nigerian Players Compete for Global Qualification

The International Para-Badminton Tournament commenced in Umuahia, Abia State, with 40 Nigerian players participating in the classification event. The President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih, highlighted the significance of the tournament in providing Nigerian players with the opportunity to qualify for international competitions.

A workshop was conducted to assess and certify Nigerian coaches, emphasizing the importance of coaching in the sport. Governor Alex Otti was commended for supporting the tournament's successful hosting.

Athletes from 14 countries are participating in the first International Para Badminton Championship in Africa, hosted by Abia State.
