Women’s Day Event in Kaduna Advocates Mentorship and Unity

During an event organized by the J Dev Foundation to mark International Women’s Day in 2026, Zigwai Ayuba, the Executive Director of the foundation, called for stronger mentorship and unity among women to enhance community development and leadership. Ayuba highlighted the need for women to support and empower each other, noting that mentorship is crucial for sharing knowledge and bridging gaps at the grassroots level.

She emphasized that women of all ages often do not realize the importance of community engagement, which creates significant gaps in empowerment. Fatima Garba, a participant, discussed the challenges women face in Northern Nigeria and the necessity of awareness to encourage women's participation in leadership roles.

Lara Diana Goni, a clerk in the Yobe State House Assembly, stressed the importance of collective growth and the need for women to work together to pursue policies that promote welfare and participation in governance. The event underscored the critical role of unity among women to achieve meaningful progress for future generations.
