Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya Launches Youth Development Policy

On Wednesday, Gombe State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the importance of youth in shaping the future of the state during his goodwill message for the 2026 International Youth Day. He announced the approval of the Gombe State Youth Policy by the State Executive Council, which aims to create a structured framework for youth development.

The policy addresses the aspirations and challenges faced by young people and is designed to empower them to shape the present rather than just prepare for the future. Governor Yahaya highlighted the theme of this year's International Youth Day, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” which reflects the universal desires of youth for opportunity and meaningful participation.

The policy will enhance efforts in education, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. The governor also noted the government's partnership with the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative (OTNI) to prepare youth for the digital economy, including the establishment of a digital skills acquisition center that has trained over 2,000 young people.
