Gombe Governor Yahaya Unveils Youth Policy for Empowerment

Governor Yahaya of Gombe State delivered a goodwill message on the occasion of the 2026 International Youth Day, announcing the approval of the Gombe State Youth Policy. This policy aims to provide a structured framework for youth development, addressing their aspirations and challenges.

Yahaya emphasized that young people should be empowered to shape the present rather than just being prepared for the future. He noted that the policy would enhance government interventions in various areas, including education, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship.

The Governor highlighted the partnership with the Outsource to Nigeria Initiative (OTNI), which has established a digital skills acquisition center, training over 2,000 young people. He reiterated his administration's commitment to improving the scholarship system for tertiary students and urged youth to actively participate in the policy's implementation.

Yahaya called on young people to embrace technology and innovation as pathways to economic independence and community transformation, assuring them of ongoing support from his administration.
