Inuwa and Daura Defect from ADC to New Political Parties

Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa and Lawal Musa Daura announced their defection from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after losing the 2026 Katsina governorship primaries. Inuwa, a former Secretary to the Katsina State Government, joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while Daura aligned with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Inuwa had previously served as Commissioner for Education from 2003 to 2006 and as SSG under President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Governor Aminu Bello Masari from 2015 to 2022. After resigning from the APC to contest the ADC primaries, he rejected the outcome that favored Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita.

Daura, who also contested the ADC ticket, lost to Kaita and subsequently announced his resignation from the ADC. Sources indicate that Daura may be considered as a running mate to APM presidential candidate Governor Seyi Makinde.

Daura expressed that his silence during the ADC crisis was strategic, urging supporters to remain patient for future developments.
