IPAC Projects 2.5 Million Voters for 2027 Cross River Election

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Cross River State has announced a projection that no fewer than 2.5 million eligible voters will cast their votes in the upcoming 2027 general election. Effiom Edet Okon, the chairman of IPAC in the state, disclosed this information during a press conference held last week.

He highlighted the council's efforts to mobilize political parties across the 18 local government areas to ensure that their members register to vote. Okon stated that IPAC is collaborating with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), civil society organizations, youth and women groups, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and market associations to support the ongoing voter registration exercise.

He emphasized that it is crucial for every eligible citizen to register, as the success of democracy begins with voter registration. The current voter registration in Cross River State stands at approximately 1.766 million, with the state's population estimated to be over 5 million.
