Iran Accuses US of Ceasefire Violation Amid Tensions

Iran accused the United States of violating a ceasefire agreement following US military strikes on Iranian missile and drone storage sites. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps responded by announcing plans for retaliatory strikes against US military positions in the Gulf region.

Iran's Foreign Ministry described the US actions as a blatant violation of the memorandum aimed at halting hostilities. The US Central Command characterized its operations as necessary responses to Iranian aggression, particularly following accusations that Iran attacked commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Israel and Lebanon signed a US-brokered framework agreement in Washington, which aims to advance peace along their shared border. The agreement, welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a strategic victory, outlines a process for Lebanese troops to gradually assume control of areas currently occupied by Israeli forces.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun described the agreement as a first step towards enabling displaced residents to return home.
