Protests Erupt in Nigeria Following Khamenei's Death

Following the announcement of the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, protests were held across several Nigerian cities including Lagos, Sokoto, Gombe, Abuja, Kano, Niger, Kaduna, Bauchi, and Yobe. U.S.

President Donald Trump confirmed the killing of the 86-year-old cleric, which sparked outrage among members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN). Demonstrators displayed Iranian flags and portraits of Khamenei, condemning the actions of the U.S. and Israel.

In Yobe State, IMN members protested in Gashua, Nguru, and Potiskum, denouncing the killing and calling it a violation of international law. Malam Abdullahi Bin Sa'id criticized the attack as an assault on sovereignty.

In Gombe, Muhammad Abbari alleged that the U.S. seeks to dominate Iran's resources and described the tensions as politically and economically driven. The protests were marked by chants of solidarity with Iran and calls for global Muslim unity against perceived foreign aggression.
