Ireti Kingibe Challenges Wike on FCT Loan Approval Claims

Senator Ireti Kingibe has publicly responded to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stating that she did not enter public service to be intimidated but to serve the people of the FCT. This statement came after Wike dismissed her concerns regarding the approval of loans obtained by the FCT Administration, asserting that such loans could not be secured without National Assembly approval.

Kingibe challenged Wike to present the Senate Votes and Proceedings that would confirm the loan's approval, asserting that it was never brought before the Senate. She reiterated her commitment to scrutinizing public borrowing and government spending, emphasizing that public officials must be accountable to the electorate.

Kingibe also rejected Wike's suggestion that he could determine her chances of re-election in 2027, stating that the decision lies with the voters. She concluded by affirming her dedication to serving the FCT and ensuring the will of the people prevails in future elections.
