Oborevwori Critiques Delay in Irri Technical College Project

On a recent unscheduled inspection of the Irri Technical College project in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Governor Rt. Hon.

Sheriff Oborevwori criticized the contractor for the unacceptable delay in completing the project, which was awarded in 2019. The governor noted that seven years have passed without significant progress, stating that the contractor has failed to demonstrate sufficient competence and commitment to deliver the project on time.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of activity on-site, mentioning that no workers were present during his visit. The governor highlighted that the project was supposed to be completed by August of this year, but significant aspects of the work had not even commenced.

He summoned the contractor for a consultation to address the prolonged delays and poor supervision, reiterating the administration's commitment to ensuring that government projects are delivered within approved timelines. The governor emphasized that such delays would no longer be tolerated, as the institution is expected to begin admitting students in September.
