Oborevwori Summons Contractor Over Irri College Delays

Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori expressed his displeasure regarding the slow progress of the Irri Technical College project, which has been delayed for seven years since its contract was awarded in 2019.

During an unscheduled inspection visit to the project site, he noted that significant aspects of the work had yet to commence, including landscaping and roofing. Governor Oborevwori stated that the contractor had failed to demonstrate sufficient competence and commitment to completing the project on time.

He summoned the contractor and project consultant to account for the prolonged delays, which he attributed to poor supervision. The governor emphasized that the delays made it impossible for the institution to begin admitting students in September.

He reiterated his administration's commitment to ensuring that contractors deliver quality work within approved timelines and stated that the continued delays would no longer be tolerated.
