Experts Discuss AI's Role in Digital Economies at IsDB

In Baku, Azerbaijan, stakeholders and experts gathered to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing regional digital economies for member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). The event, titled "AI to Advance Regional Digital Economies," featured Mr.

Anass Aissami, Director of General Country Programs at IsDB, who stressed the bank's commitment to AI as a crucial component of its technological agenda. H.E.

Mr. Samaddin Asadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, highlighted the country's efforts to establish itself as a regional digital hub.

The discussions included the importance of narrowing the digital divide and ensuring ethical AI deployment, particularly in low-income member countries. Key organizations involved included UNITAR, DCO, and the World Bank Group, which contributed to discussions on regulatory frameworks and cross-border digital integration.

The event concluded with a call for deeper collaboration among governments and technology partners to operationalize inclusive and resilient digital transformations across IsDB member countries.
