Israel Kills Iran's Navy Chief in Hormuz Airstrike

On February 28, Israel executed an airstrike that resulted in the death of Commodore Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of Iran's Navy within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with other senior commanders. The operation was aimed at dismantling the military network responsible for the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil transport.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the operation as a precise and lethal strike targeting Tangsiri, who was directly involved in terrorist activities affecting the Strait. The U.S. has struggled to break Iran's control over this strategic passage, which has led to rising global oil prices.

Iran has not confirmed or denied the claims regarding Tangsiri's death. Katz warned that Israeli forces would continue to target senior IRGC officials as part of a broader campaign against Iranian leadership, which has already resulted in significant casualties across the Middle East.
