Timi Frank Calls for U.S. Sanctions on Nigerian Officials

Timi Frank, a former deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the United States government to impose visa restrictions, economic sanctions, and asset freezes on Nigerian government officials involved in actions that threaten democracy. He specifically accused the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of deploying state institutions to weaken opposition parties ahead of future elections.

Frank warned that failure to address these issues could plunge Nigeria into a crisis, given its population of 200 million, which could trigger a massive refugee crisis across the region. He also highlighted the alleged involvement of the Central Bank of Nigeria's Governor, Yemi Cardoso, in funding activities that undermine the democratic process.

Frank is prepared to provide detailed information to foreign governments regarding the assets of Nigerian public officials and has urged the international community to act before Nigeria descends into conflict and instability.
