Bode George Criticizes Appeal Court Over PDP Judgment

Bode George, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), condemned the Appeal Court's ruling that upheld a Federal High Court decision nullifying the PDP's 2025 national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State. In an interview on Thursday during a public affairs program on EAGLE 102.5 FM, George expressed his absolute disgust and disheartenment regarding the judgment, accusing the judiciary of undermining justice and the fair rule of law in Nigeria.

He highlighted the strict punitive judgment issued by the Abuja court and contrasted it with the nuanced approach taken by the Ibadan panel. George traced the PDP's internal crisis to greed and mismanagement, linking it to historical lessons from Nigeria's past.

He urged the younger generation not to ignore these lessons and demanded justice in current political affairs. Additionally, he emphasized the PDP's commitment to reconciliation, echoing recent moves by the PDP Board of Trustees, led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, to restore unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
